A FAMILY AFFAIR
THE EARLY DAYS
East Nolton Farm has been run, cared for and loved by the Owen family for seven generations. It all started when the farm was purchased in 1915. At this time it was a small family holding surrounded by rolling clifftop fields. As a small scale, self-sufficient dairy and arable farm, life on the land revolved around growing grass, barley and oats; making hay and haylage and supplying many of the locals with eggs and, of course, milk.
FARM LIFE
As our family grew, so did the farm. Originally the farm supported 70 milking cows and their calves but the focus gradually shifted to horses along side arable and beef farming. John Owen, Lawson and James’ father, diversified into beach riding when he and his two brothers were boys.Visitors would see them on the beach on their ponies and ask for a ride, and so our iconic and wonderful riding centre was born. John and his wife Ruth, grew and ran the centre for many years, before handing it down to their own sons, and current owners, Lawson & James and their partners Penny & Katie.
THE BIG IDEA
In 2020, like many other businesses at the time, we were faced with a new challenge when the lockdowns hit. Unable to run the stables as we had been, we closed down, sold many of our horses and started up a drive-in cinema. When visitors arrived and started admiring the amazing views across the coastal fields, the idea to make our farm a dream wedding destination was born. We had a lot to learn and a steep hill to climb but determined and resourceful as we are we soon found our feet and by Autumn 2022 our first wedding was underway.

We are a fledgling wedding venue! It has always been a great joy sharing our glorious rolling farmland and its stunning coastal views with our visitors. Now, we are able to offer this special corner of Pembrokeshire to couples and their guests who want to make their wedding day special and unique - we currently have 8 weddings booked this year plus more for 2025 onwards. It is an honour and a privilege to see how the wonderful views and relaxed atmosphere at Nolton Coast allow others to create treasured memories and moments that matter.
